Held a ceremony on November 15, 2011

Nagoya, Japan, November 16, 2011 – JTEKT CORPORATION (JTEKT; Nagoya, Japan; President: Shoji Ikawa) is pleased to announce that we established a new production plant in Indonesia, and we will start the local production of bearings from coming December 2011. Since October 2011, the Electric Power Steering (EPS) production has been changed to wholly local production from former only assembly line production. Along with this local production, we held a ceremony to commemorate the completion of this new plant on November 15, 2011. At the ceremony, we invited our customers and many government officials to celebrate the embarkation.

PT. JTEKT INDONESIA (JID), established in January 2009 as a sales company, built the new plant. Indonesia has its population ranked 4th in the world, and an automotive and a motorcycle market in are rapidly growing. To correspond the demands for components, it has started the assembling of EPS and starter clutch. This wholly local production enables us to strengthen our supply system for expanding markets. The total amount of investment is to be approximately 8 billion yen.
