Respect for Human Rights
There is growing concern worldwide about the impact of business on human rights, and companies are being called upon to respond in a responsible manner.
JTEKT recognizes that respect for human rights is essential to sustainable management and is a critical factor directly linked to employee engagement. Accordingly, we are committed to addressing business and human rights issues as core elements of our materiality themes, including "fostering employees who can realize their full potential," "building a workplace where challenges are embraced," and "maintaining a sustainable supply chain."
Basic Approach to Respect for Human Rights
We recognize that our business activities affect not only ourselves but also the human rights issues in our supply chain.
In accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, JTEKT will avoid causing or encouraging human rights violations, and if human rights violations do occur, we will take appropriate measures to correct and remedy the situation.
Human Rights Policy
JTEKT has been promoting respect for human rights in its "JTEKT Supplier Sustainability Guidelines" and "Employee Action Guidelines.
In order to clarify our stance and further promote activities to respect human rights, we formulated and published the JTEKT Group Human Rights Policy in April 2023, declaring our commitment to fulfill our responsibility to respect human rights.

Human Rights Due Diligence
Based on the "JTEKT Group Human Rights Policy", we are promoting human rights education and awareness-raising activities, collaboration with suppliers, and the establishment of a human rights due diligence system.
As part of this policy development process, we conducted a Human Rights Impact Assessment. As a result, we identified "forced labor and slavery," "child labor," "discrimination," and "harassment" as the four human rights risks that the JTEKT Group must address with the highest priority, and designated them as "priority issues" to be addressed.

Establishment of a consultation service
We have established a contact point for consultation and reporting from both inside and outside the company. Anonymous reporting and foreign language services are also available to facilitate consultation and reporting.
If an actual human rights violation is identified, we will take appropriate steps to correct and remedy the situation.
Education and Awareness Activities
JTEKT conducts educational activities for employees to practice actions based on the "JTEKT Group Human Rights Policy.
We conduct human rights education for all employees including new hires, and also provide education on individual themes such as "harassment" which is a "priority issues" to be addressed, and "diversity,"
In FY2023, we conducted human rights training led by specialists for directors.
Moreover, in FY2024, we implemented a company-wide initiative entitled "Mutual Respect Month," targeting all employees in Japan. As part of this initiative, we conducted workplace-based training sessions focused on the theme of "unconscious bias." The primary objective of this program was to foster a deeper understanding of unconscious bias and to promote individual awareness among employees, thereby enhancing inclusion within the workplace. This initiative was designed to cultivate a corporate culture that values mutual respect and open dialogue, ultimately contributing to the creation of a more inclusive and supportive organizational environment.
