JTEKT Group has established its Environmental Challenge 2050 and, under the slogan "All for One Earth," positions the reduction of environmental impact--including the achievement of carbon neutrality--as a key priority across the entire Group. To realize carbon neutrality through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, we are pursuing CO₂ reduction across all Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. For Scope 1 and 2 emissions related to our own production activities, we aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035.
Aligned with this policy, we have been installing solar power systems across our domestic and overseas sites. Additionally, we generate green hydrogen using electricity produced by these solar systems, and have introduced hydrogen burner-type aluminum melting and holding furnaces--powered by this green hydrogen--into automotive parts production lines. We are also focusing on circular economy initiatives to enhance the sustainability of our business activities, including maximizing resource and product value, minimizing resource consumption, and reducing waste generation.

2.Comment from Masatsugu Iwaki, President of JTEKT THAILAND COMPANY LIMITED
"We are deeply honored to receive such a prestigious award, one that few Japanese companies have received. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported our carbon-neutral initiatives, including our partners and stakeholders. We are pleased that our efforts, though modest, are contributing to society. At the same time, this award provides us with an important opportunity to reflect on what more we can do. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to the future of our planet and the realization of a sustainable society."
3.About the Commendation by the Ministry of Energy, Thailand
This award program is hosted by the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Thailand and operated by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE). It recognizes outstanding initiatives in energy conservation and renewable energy. With a history of more than 25 years, it is a prestigious national commendation and one of the government's key measures for promoting the national goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
4.Future Initiatives
JTEKT regards addressing climate change as one of its critical issues and aims to achieve the targets set out in its Environmental Challenge 2050, which seeks to minimize environmental impact. As an execution framework, the company has formulated its 2030 Environmental Action Plan, which sets goals for three key pillars--Carbon Neutrality, Circular Economy, and Nature Positive--as well as for Environmental Management, the foundation that supports these pillars. To achieve carbon neutrality across the entire JTEKT Group by 2035, we will continue to share this plan throughout the Group, promote new technology development and improvements in production processes, and further expand the use of renewable energy. We will also establish a local production-and-consumption model for green hydrogen within our plants and accelerate CO₂ reductions in Scopes 1 and 2.
