Abstract Among those bearings used under high-speed applications, some are actually used at operating temperatures up to 200℃. Under such severe operating conditions, polyetheretherketone, which is an extremely high heat-resistant thermoplastic, is sometimes used. But its cost is very high. By our study a suitable crown type cage for high-temperature/high-speed application has been designed using Polyamidimide with good creep performance and polyphenylenesulfide with good chemical resistance. These materials form an original composition that makes use of each material's superior characteristics. As a result, a lower cost cage has been developed which can be used in high-speed use conditions in an environment up to 200℃.
