Abstract With the increased efficiency of the eAxle, the motor operates at higher rotational speeds, which in turn demands high-speed performance from the bearings used. Under these conditions, the bearing cage which determines the position of the rolling elements is subjected to significant centrifugal forces, as well as impact forces caused by ball skidding. To enhance the reliability of the cage against these phenomena, JTEKT has developed a high-precision fatigue strength analysis method for the cage.
