No.1022E 2026Special Edition on the Technologies that Support Manufacturing and Manufacturing Equipment Efforts to Implement Water-Soluble Grinding Fluids in Superfinishing Processes

Category TECHNICAL PRODUCT
Author Process Innovation Engineering Dept., Production Engineering Division
Abstract In superfinishing processes that determine the final quality of precision parts, the use of insoluble oil agents is common, and our company follows the same. Since grinding processes have shifted to water-soluble oils, the superfinishing processes are also required to use water-soluble agents to improve working conditions, prevent fires, and improve product cleanliness. We have investigated the integration of water-soluble oils into griding wheels. It, however, has not been implemented in mass production. This report presents the issues and their solutions.
