<Governance> Safety and Health Promotion Structure

In order to create a healthy, safe, secure, and comfortable work environment for all employees, we have established a the Companywide Health & Safety Management Committee chaired by the Supervisory manager of Safety and Health (company-wide) and consisting of members of the Safety and Health Affairs Secretariat of each plant and office, including management, to establish a centralized management system for safety and health, including domestic and overseas group companies, and to develop safety and health activities under the One JTEKT concept.
The Companywide Health & Safety Management Committee is held twice a year, at the middle and end of the fiscal year, to share policies on safety, health, and fire prevention and to confirm those progresses based on the review of safety scores and employees' opinions, and the results are shared with all employees.

As an organization that complements the activities of the Companywide Health & Safety Management Committee, the Safety and Health Promotion Meeting is held every month. In addition to messages from top management on safety and the progress of annual policies, we also share information on accidents and discuss measures to prevent recurrence with all plants, including the executive officer in charge of safety, and focus on bringing the results back to each business site and workplace. At each business site, including plants, a Health and Safety Committee has been established by each business site, chaired by the head of the business site, to implement and confirm various health and safety activities and to proactively address issues through cooperation between labor and management.

<Risk Management>

We recognize labor losses caused by occupational accidents and work-related illnesses, the deterioration of workplace evaluations due to unsafe or poorly managed environments, and the decline in employee motivation as critical risks. To address these challenges, we are committed to eliminating occupational accidents through targeted initiatives.
Specifically, we classify and manage the number and frequency rate of accidents based on their severity, and conduct root cause analyses for each incident.
Furthermore, our internal regulations clearly define procedures for responding to occupational accidents, including reporting methods and designated recipients. These procedures are shared companywide to prevent omissions and ensure prompt and comprehensive information dissemination.

<Accident Analysis and Priority Initiatives>

We classify accidents that are likely to result in serious injuries into six categories, referred to as the "Serious Six Accidents," and implement targeted preventive measures.
For equipment with potential risks, we rank and label them according to their risk level, promoting risk visualization through "Genchi Genbutsu" (collecting facts and data at the actual site of the work or problem).
For high-risk equipment, we take a companywide approach to continuously plan and implement improvement measures.

Accidents by type of work

<Sharing of Workplace Accident and Incident Cases>

We actively share actual accident and incident cases to support on-site improvements in areas such as equipment and training.
We collect a wide range of information not only from within the company, but also from domestic and overseas group companies and affiliates. By clearly and concisely communicating the causes of accidents and incidents, we promote safety activities that are tailored to the specific perspectives and needs of each workplace.

<Safety Education>

We provide safety education tailored to employees' roles and organizational levels. In addition to legally mandated training, JTEKT has developed its own original programs to ensure that employees acquire practical knowledge and skills directly applicable to their work. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance individual safety awareness and foster a strong culture of safety across the entire workplace.
