Abstract The IH (Induction Heating) coils currently used in high-frequency heat treatment are made by processing copper material and then having a skilled worker braze it together. This method has issues such as long manufacturing lead times and short coil life due to water leakage from brazed parts. To address these issues, a novel method of producing IH coils using a metal 3D printer was developed. This reduces coil manufacturing lead time, eliminates brazing, and extends coil lifespan by optimizing the coil shape design.
